Twilight

I found out about Twilight during the Forensic Science Third Annual Conference. Don Jacobs presented Youtube clips of the New York Times best seller and movie as what happens when teenagers are out of control. He basically presented his lecture on Twilight along with other serial killer theories. After listening to him, I knew that I would not want to view see this movie nor read any vampire books. Several times, I saw Twilight appear on cable channels previews passed over it. Then on one of my days off, I decided to watch the movie and judge it for myself. Well, I viewed the movie several times and decided to purchase the second book in the sage, New Moon. I acutally fell in love with this book and wonder why it drew my attention into the lives of vampires and werewolves Shamefully, I threw the book away. This act did not prevent me from thinking about Edward and Bella over and over again. I purchased another paper back and later purchased the Twilight hardback saga from Amazon.

One week, I sat for hours reading these books. Next I purchased the DVD's, movie scores and soundtracks for both Twilight and New Moon. I was hooked. Since I did not read any vampire books nor watch vampire movies, I wondered what in the world had happened to me. Then, I dared to share my fascination with this phenomenon that he hit the nation by a storm with others and realized that I was normal.

Stephenie Meyer's dream of two unlikely teens falling in love was a blockbuster. I realized that this saga hit me so hard because it was about love, devotion and romance. Love...Are we all so hungry for good love stories that it does matter if the main characters are vampires and werewolves. Are we so out of touch with our humanity that ficture now satisfies are thirst for the human touch. Sad but true...yes. Read more on Stephenie Meyer's blog: http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/

Vacation Or Rest and Relaxation

This year's vacation plans were changed at the last minute due to unforeseen pressures from work. As the flow of life unfolded, it appears that I simply needed rest and relaxation. After four days away from the office, I finally feel human. My attachments to email, phone calls, meetings are beginning to fade. The last days of my vacation, I don't email, phone anyone or attend meeting. The pressures of these activities are only memories. I am simply relaxing. What took me so long? Why do I fill every minute with my day with meetings, emails, and phone calls. Even on vacation, it was extremely difficult to relax on day one, day two and even day three. As a matter of fact, I spent the first day of my vacation reading and answering 500 emails. How sad!! How did I fall into this state? When did work become such an electronic burden? Americans have become slaves to work and technology. We don't take the time to share a cup of tea with a neighbor or simply w...

A Journey of Chaos and Clarity

For the past twelve years, my life has been a total mess, surrounded by chaos. Through chaos, clarity surfaced and I am regaining balance in my life again. What a beautiful journey. This journey occurred after I prayed for God to change me in 2000. Since I had prayed a similar prayer in 1981, I did not face the journey with fear. Some of the most important lessons, I have learned on this 12 year journey are follows: 1) Seek and demonstrate unconditional love, and Learn to love yourself. 2) Remove toxic friends and relationships from your life. 3) Forgive those who have caused harm in your life. This forgiveness is liberating. 4) Be opened to love and seek adventure. 5) Turn your life, dreams, needs, desires and hopes over to God. 6) Live each day as if it were your last day on plant earth. 7) Find out which talents bring you joy and peace. Used these talents. 8) Continue to breathe and never stop dancing...it is good for the soul. 9) Take care of your body by ...
